TLDR Combining subcision, PRP, and microneedling effectively treats acne scars with minimal side effects.
The study evaluated the effectiveness of combining subcision with blunt cannula, platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injection, and microneedling in treating post-acne rolling scars in 50 patients. Results showed that the combination of subcision, derma pen, and plasma significantly increased the improvement of ordinary acne and scar types compared to other treatment groups. Rolling scars were most frequent in the subcision and subcision with plasma groups. The study concluded that PRP and radiofrequency microneedling were effective in treating atrophic acne scars in over 80% of patients, with minimal adverse effects. There were no significant differences in age of onset, previous scar types, or satisfaction levels between the groups.
