TLDR The supplement improved hair growth and quality in men with thinning hair and was safe to use.
The study investigated a nutraceutical supplement containing botanicals like saw palmetto and ashwagandha in 112 men with thinning hair over 6 months. Despite primary endpoint data issues, secondary endpoints showed significant improvements in hair growth and quality in the active group compared to placebo. By Day 180, 79% of the active group showed improved hair growth versus 51% in the placebo group, and 74% reported better hair quality compared to 54% in the placebo group. The Men's Hair Growth Questionnaire indicated 85% of the active group found the treatment effective in slowing hair loss, compared to 55% in the placebo group. The supplement was well-tolerated with no significant adverse events, supporting its use as a safe and effective option for hair thinning in men.
