TLDR Flutamide, dutasteride, and finasteride dissolve differently in supercritical carbon dioxide, with dutasteride dissolving the least.
This study measured the solubilities of three antiandrogenic drugs (flutamide, dutasteride, and finasteride) in supercritical carbon dioxide and correlated the data using two density-based models. The solubility of dutasteride was lower than that of flutamide and finasteride, likely due to its polarity. The Bartle model provided the best correlation results, with an average absolute relative deviation in solid solubility ranging from 0.024 to 0.137. The heat of drug-CO₂ solvation and drug vaporization were also approximated.
