    GlossaryFlutamide

nonsteroidal antiandrogen used to treat prostate cancer and hair loss

Flutamide is a nonsteroidal antiandrogen medication primarily used to treat prostate cancer by blocking the action of androgens (male hormones) like testosterone. It can also be used off-label to manage conditions like hirsutism (excessive hair growth) and androgenic alopecia (pattern hair loss) by reducing the effects of androgens on hair follicles.
