TLDR Two gene variations, rs6493497 and rs7176005, may be linked to female hair loss in Chinese people.
This study investigated the association between single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in the CYP19A1 gene and female pattern hair loss (FPHL) in a Chinese Han population. The study found that two SNPs, rs6493497 and rs7176005, were significantly associated with FPHL in the patient group compared to the control group. The study suggests that these SNPs may be potential genetic markers for FPHL in the Chinese population. However, the study had a small sample size, and a larger sample set should be analyzed in a further study.
