TLDR Placenderm® improves scalp elasticity and hair quality safely.
This study evaluated the effects of hydrolyzed low-molecular-weight porcine placental peptides (Placenderm®) on scalp and hair aging markers in a 24-week, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial with 100 adults. Participants receiving Placenderm® (500 mg/day) showed significant improvements in scalp elasticity, hair diameter, and tensile strength compared to the placebo group. Scanning electron microscopy revealed reduced hair surface roughness, indicating less cuticle damage. Additionally, hair luster and subjective satisfaction were higher in the intervention group, with no serious adverse events reported. The findings suggest that Placenderm® is a safe and effective nutritional intervention for improving age-related changes in scalp and hair.
