TLDR IMA and IMA/albumin levels don't predict alopecia areata severity.
The study investigated ischemia-modified albumin (IMA) and IMA/albumin levels in 70 patients with alopecia areata (AA) compared to a control group. Significant differences were found in the mean IMA and IMA/albumin ratios between the study and control groups. However, these markers did not correlate with disease severity, suggesting that while oxidative stress is important in AA etiology, IMA and IMA/albumin levels may not be useful for predicting disease severity.
