    TLDR Dutasteride and finasteride have similar risk for osteoporosis and fractures in older men.
    A population-based study from 2018 compared the risk of osteoporosis and fractures in older men treated with dutasteride or finasteride. The study found that there was no significant difference in the risk of osteoporosis or fractures between the two medications. The study concluded that dutasteride can be used safely in terms of adverse bone outcomes among older men.
