The study explored how real estate agents managed to balance work and family life, highlighting the challenges posed by the demanding nature of their profession, which required significant time, effort, and availability. Through nine interviews with full-time real estate agents who had children, the study found that achieving work-life balance depended on individual factors and conditions. Key factors that facilitated balance included work flexibility, support from partners, setting boundaries, and passion for the job. Gender differences were noted, with female agents being more family-oriented and taking on more household responsibilities, while male agents were more work-oriented. However, these differences did not necessarily result in greater difficulty for female agents in balancing work and family, largely due to personal strategies and strong partner support. Collaboration and shared responsibility with partners were crucial for achieving balance.
