TLDR A 25-year-old man with multiple skin tumors was successfully treated with acitretin and methotrexate.
A 25-year-old male with multiple keratoacanthomas, a rare skin neoplasm, was successfully treated with a combination of oral acitretin and intralesional methotrexate (MTX). Initial treatment with oral isotretinoin was ineffective. The patient received two MTX injections (12.5 mg/mL) four weeks apart, resulting in lesion regression. Oral acitretin was continued alongside topical treatments. This case highlighted the efficacy of intralesional MTX as a non-surgical treatment option, providing good cosmetic results and avoiding systemic toxicity. Regular monitoring of blood parameters ensured safety throughout the treatment.
