TLDR Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) is becoming popular for treating hair loss and it's important for dermatologists to understand how it works and its safety.
Five years ago, the document "Platelet-Rich Plasma in the Treatment of Hair Disorders" highlighted the growing popularity of Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) for treating hair loss. The document emphasized the importance for dermatologists to understand the mechanism, efficacy, and safety of PRP to answer patient inquiries. It also mentioned two review articles within the same issue, one focusing on the efficacy of PRP with a critical evaluation of clinical studies, and the other on the preparation methods and mechanism of action. The authors hoped these reviews would enhance the skills of those already using PRP or encourage others to consider its use in their practice.
