TLDR PRP treatment satisfies 58% of female hair loss patients, with most noticing fuller, thicker hair and less shedding.
The study conducted a survey of 31 female patients with female pattern hair loss (FPHL) who had received one or more platelet-rich plasma (PRP) treatments. The patients were aged between 18 and 90 years old and had undergone one to three treatments at two to three-month intervals. The study found that 58% of patients were satisfied with PRP treatment, with 65% of satisfied patients reporting either "marked" or "exceptional" improvement. The most common subjective manifestations of improvement were hair feeling/looking fuller or thicker to the patient or others (94%) and less shedding (61%). The study supports a growing body of literature that PRP is a promising new therapy in the treatment of FPHL.
