This study investigates the potential of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) as an antimicrobial agent against 53 multidrug-resistant bacterial strains from diabetic foot infections, including MRSA, MDR Klebsiella pneumoniae, and MDR Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The results showed that PRP exhibited antibacterial activity, with efficacy peaking at different times for each strain: the second hour for MRSA and Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and the first hour for Klebsiella pneumoniae. However, this effect was transient, with no activity observed at 24 hours, and PRP showed no impact on biofilm formation. Thus, while PRP can inhibit bacterial growth, its effects are temporary and strain-dependent.
