The study investigated the profitability of honey marketing in Cross River State, Nigeria, using data from 120 honey marketers across three local government areas. It found that honey marketing was profitable, with a net return of N1,250.00 and N0.22 earned per naira invested. However, marketers faced challenges such as high transportation costs, lack of capital, and poor infrastructure, which hindered marketing efficiency. The study suggested that addressing these issues through policy changes, better supervision, and cooperative groups for accessing loans could enhance profitability and reduce poverty in the region.
