TLDR SLFC can improve scalp health and reduce sensitive scalp symptoms.
The study examined the effects of a postbiotic Saccharomyces and Lactobacillus ferment complex (SLFC) on the scalp microbiome of 60 Chinese women, half with sensitive scalps and half with healthy scalps. After 28 days of twice-daily SLFC application, significant changes in the scalp microbiome were observed, including increased abundance of Staphylococcus, Lawsonella, and Fusarium, and decreased levels of Cutibacterium and Malassezia. All participants reported alleviation of sensitive scalp symptoms. The results suggest that SLFC can modulate the scalp microbiome and alleviate sensitive scalp syndrome, potentially normalizing the flora distribution to a healthier state.
