TLDR Ethosomal carriers effectively deliver hair loss drug into skin.
The study investigated the use of vesicular nanocarriers to deliver finasteride, a drug used to treat hair loss, through human cadaver skin. The researchers found that ethosomal carriers were more effective in delivering finasteride into the dermis layer than liposomes, with the finasteride concentration in the dermis layer from ethosomes being more than sevenfold higher than from liposomes. The study suggests that ethosomal carriers could be a promising approach for topical drug delivery to treat hair loss.
