TLDR Oleuropein increases IGF-1 levels in mouse skin.
The study investigated the effect of oleuropein on the expression of growth factors in C57BL/6N mouse skin tissue. It measured mRNA expression levels of IGF-1, HGF, VEGF, and KGF using RT-PCR, with results normalized against GAPDH. Dermal levels of IGF-1 were assessed by ELISA, and immunohistochemical analysis was conducted to observe IGF-1 expression in hair follicles. The study involved 8 mice, with experiments conducted in triplicate. Significant changes in expression levels were noted, with statistical significance indicated by p-values (* = p < 0.05, ** = p < 0.01, *** = p < 0.001) using one-way ANOVA and Tukey's test.
