    Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a common reproductive disorder linked to various metabolic issues, including insulin resistance, type 2 diabetes, obesity, and cardiovascular disease. It is often familial, influenced by both genetic and environmental factors, and can cause infertility in up to 30% of affected couples. Women with PCOS have higher levels of male hormones, leading to symptoms like irregular menstrual periods, difficulty in getting pregnant, excessive hair growth, and baldness. In a study involving 60 respondents, 95% were aware of PCOS, highlighting the need for more comprehensive research on the syndrome.
