Formulation and Evaluation of Niosomal Gel for Treatment of Acne

The study focuses on the formulation and evaluation of a niosomal gel for treating acne, a common skin condition. The niosomal gel delivery system, specifically SANG5, was developed using salicylic acid, cholesterol, span 80, and tween 20, and was evaluated for vesicle shape, size, entrapment efficiency, and in-vitro drug release. SANG5, formulated with Carbopol 940 (2g), PVP, and nutmeg oil, was identified as the best formulation. The study highlights the importance of drug release profile and release kinetics in describing the dissolution profile of the dosage form.
