TLDR Transethosomal gels improve naftifine skin delivery better than Exoderil cream.
The study aimed to develop and evaluate naftifine-loaded transethosomes for enhanced dermal delivery compared to the marketed cream Exoderil. Transethosomes were created using the film dispersion method and assessed for particle size, zeta potential, drug recovery, and stability. The optimal formulation had a mean particle size of 50.20 nm and a drug recovery of 96.215%. These were incorporated into various gels and tested for skin penetration using pig skin. Results showed that transethosomal systems could effectively penetrate the stratum corneum and enhance naftifine deposition, suggesting their potential as carriers for improved skin delivery.
