This randomized controlled study evaluated the effectiveness of a motion-graphic educational video versus conventional verbal consent for patients undergoing platelet-rich plasma therapy for androgenetic alopecia. Conducted with 34 participants, the study found that the video significantly improved patient knowledge more than verbal explanations, with post-intervention knowledge scores of 9.0 for the video group compared to 7.0 for the verbal group. Anxiety levels remained unchanged in both groups. Participants who viewed the video reported high satisfaction, indicating that audiovisual media can be an effective tool in the informed consent process.
