TLDR Adding PRP to minoxidil improves hair growth in male pattern baldness.
The study compared the efficacy of topical 5% minoxidil alone versus topical 5% minoxidil with autologous Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy in treating androgenetic alopecia in 62 men aged 20-40. Participants were divided into two groups of 31 each. Results showed a significant increase in hair density after 4 months, with Group B (minoxidil + PRP) achieving higher hair density (42.97±8.96) compared to Group A (minoxidil alone) (36.94±11.57), with a statistically significant difference (P = 0.03). The study concluded that PRP treatment had a positive therapeutic effect on male androgenetic alopecia without major side effects.
