TLDR PRP therapy improves hair growth safely in androgenetic alopecia but needs standardized methods.
This systematic review assessed the efficacy and safety of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy for androgenetic alopecia (AGA) by analyzing 13 studies with 743 participants. The review found that PRP treatment led to a statistically significant improvement in hair density and hair count compared to control groups, with higher patient satisfaction and minimal adverse effects. The findings suggest that PRP is a promising and safe treatment for AGA, but standardization of PRP preparation and treatment protocols is needed for consistent results and wider clinical use.
