TLDR Eclipta alba may help hair regrowth by boosting cell growth.
The study explores the hair growth-promoting mechanisms of Eclipta alba, particularly its ethanol extract, which contains wedelolactone and ecliptine. These compounds enhance the Wnt/β-catenin signaling pathway and show strong binding affinities to β-catenin and VEGF receptors, leading to a 45% increase in the proliferation of human dermal papilla cells. Ethanol was identified as the most effective solvent for extracting these bioactive compounds. The findings suggest E. alba as a promising natural therapeutic for hair regrowth, though further research is needed to confirm its efficacy in humans.
