TLDR Severe hair loss may worsen with skin condition, suggesting treating the skin might help.
The study involving 311 patients explores the potential link between androgenetic alopecia (AGA) and seborrheic dermatitis (SD), revealing that 42.1% of patients with AGA also had SD. It was observed that more severe cases of AGA were associated with higher severity of SD. The findings suggest that SD might affect the pathophysiology and severity of AGA, implying that treating SD effectively could benefit AGA progression. However, the study's cross-sectional nature and relatively small sample size limit the strength of its conclusions, necessitating further research to clarify the relationship between these conditions.
