TLDR The new treatment improved keratosis pilaris symptoms and mood in 28 days.
The study investigated a new treatment formula for keratosis pilaris (KP) using the "Exfoliation-Dissolution-Repair" concept in a randomized controlled trial with 60 participants aged 18-39. Over 28 days, the formula, which combined physical and chemical exfoliants with moisturizing plant oils, significantly improved KP symptoms, reduced follicular papules, and decreased transepidermal water loss. It also alleviated depressive symptoms associated with KP, as shown by a reduction in depression scale scores in the study group compared to the control group. However, the study's small sample size and short duration limit its statistical power and long-term efficacy assessment, suggesting the need for future research with larger samples and longer follow-up.
