TLDR The SNP rs6457452 is linked to a higher risk of alopecia areata in Koreans.
The study investigated the association between the HSPA1B SNP rs6457452 and alopecia areata in the Korean population. The research involved a sample size of 200 individuals, including 100 patients with alopecia areata and 100 healthy controls. The findings suggested a significant association between the SNP rs6457452 and an increased risk of developing alopecia areata. This study contributed to understanding the genetic factors involved in alopecia areata, particularly in the Korean population, and highlighted the potential role of HSPA1B as a genetic marker for susceptibility to this condition.
