TLDR The cytokine and peptide serum was most effective in reducing hair loss and improving hair growth.
This study assessed the efficacy and safety of three hair serums in managing telogen effluvium in 45 female participants. Group 2, using a cytokine and peptide combination serum, showed the most significant results with a 54.6% reduction in hair fall, increased hair density, and a higher anagen percentage over 90 days. Trichoscopy confirmed Group 2's superior performance in hair regrowth and quality compared to Groups 1 and 3. While Groups 1 and 3 also showed improvements, no significant differences in physician assessments or patient satisfaction were noted across the groups. The study suggests the potential of cytokines, peptides, and plant extracts in managing hair loss, but acknowledges limitations such as the small sample size and short duration, recommending further research on long-term effects and comparisons with treatments like minoxidil.
