TLDR A dietary supplement with Boswellia serrata, Curcuma longa, and Vitis vinifera showed potential improvement in hair health for telogen effluvium patients, but more research is needed.
In an observational study conducted between January and October 2018, 27 patients (4 males and 23 females) aged between 19 and 76 with telogen effluvium (TE) were given a dietary supplement containing Boswellia Serrata, Curcuma Longa, and Vitis Vinifera for 3 months to assess its efficacy in treating TE. The study found an overall improvement in clinical and subjective evaluations of TE, with 48% of patients showing improvement, 43% remaining stable, and 8.7% experiencing mild worsening. However, due to the small sample size, these results were not statistically significant. The only parameter that reached statistical significance was improved combability of hair (p: 0.018). The supplement showed potential anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, angiogenic, and hair-stimulating effects, but a larger study is needed to confirm these findings and reach statistical significance. Future studies with more participants and longer follow-up periods are suggested to assess the long-term efficacy of the supplement's ingredients.

The user has been losing hair for over two years despite taking dutasteride and RU58841, even increasing dutasteride to 2.5mg. They are questioning if their hair loss could be due to telogen effluvium instead.
