TLDR One supplement improved hair loss and quality faster and more effectively than the other in treating telogen effluvium.
In a study from September 1, 2018, researchers evaluated the effectiveness of two oral nutritional supplements in treating telogen effluvium (TE) in 120 female patients. Group 1 received a supplement with a broad range of nutrients, while Group 2 received a different formulation. After 180 days, both groups experienced significant improvements in hair loss and quality, but Group 1 showed significant improvements earlier at 90 days and also demonstrated a significant increase in hair density of 11.09%. Subjective evaluations favored Group 1 in terms of hair strength, taste, and convenience. The study concluded that nutritional supplementation is beneficial for TE and that the supplement used by Group 1 was particularly effective, suggesting that specific nutrient combinations can significantly improve TE from the first trimester of use. The study involved 92 participants.
