TLDR Helianthus annuus and Martynia annua seed oils significantly promote hair growth.
The study investigated the hair growth potential of Helianthus annuus and Martynia annua seed oil extracts on albino mice. The extracts were applied topically in different dosages (10 mg/ml, 20 mg/ml, and 30 mg/ml) for 21 days. Results showed significant hair growth, particularly with the 30 mg/ml dosage, which demonstrated a hair length increase to 21.35±0.25 mm and hair thickness of 0.020±0.0010 mm, comparable to the standard 2% minoxidil treatment. The findings suggest that these seed oil extracts have promising hair growth potential.
