TLDR Adding menthol to the lotion improved hair growth.
The study investigated the hair growth-promoting effects of an ethanolic extract of Phyllanthus niruri formulated into a lotion, tested on male Wistar rats. Two formulations were compared: Formula I (F1) without menthol and Formula II (F2) with 1% menthol. The lotion was applied topically, and hair growth was measured over 21 days. Results indicated that F2, with menthol, showed slightly better hair growth, with an average hair length of 12.68 mm and weight of 23.00 mg, compared to F1's 11.21 mm and 15.83 mg. Both formulations outperformed the control group, suggesting that the P. niruri extract promotes hair growth, with menthol enhancing the effect.
