TLDR Adding menthol to the lotion improved hair growth.
The study investigated the hair growth-promoting effects of a lotion containing 5% ethanolic extract of Phyllanthus niruri on male Wistar rats. Two formulations were tested: one without menthol (F1) and one with 1% menthol (F2). Results showed that F2, with menthol, led to longer average hair length (12.68 mm) and greater hair weight (23.00 mg) compared to F1, which had an average hair length of 11.21 mm and hair weight of 15.83 mg. Both formulations outperformed the normal control group in hair growth. The addition of menthol enhanced the hair growth activity of the lotion.
