Formulation of Meniran Leaf Extract Pomade as a Hair Growth Stimulant in Rabbits

The study aimed to formulate a pomade using meniran leaf extract (Phyllanthus niruri L.) to stimulate hair growth in rabbits. The experimental study tested pomade formulations with 5%, 7.5%, and 10% meniran extract concentrations, evaluating parameters such as organoleptic properties, homogeneity, spreadability, pH, irritation, and freeze-thaw stability. Results indicated that all formulations met the characteristics of pomade, except for the control (F0) which did not meet spreadability requirements. Among the formulations, the one with 10% meniran extract (formula III) was found to be the most effective as a hair growth stimulant, comparable to the positive control.
