TLDR Pomade with 12% ethanol extract of Momordica charantia L. leaves promotes the most hair growth.
The study investigated the effect of pomade containing ethanol extract of bitter melon leaves (Momordica charantia L) on hair growth in male white rats. Four formulations were tested: F0 (0% extract), F1 (8%), F2 (10%), and F3 (12%). Results showed that the average hair length on day 18 was 0.72 cm for F0, 0.86 cm for F1, 0.95 cm for F2, and 1.36 cm for F3, compared to 1.28 cm for the Minoxidil control. The F3 formulation with 12% extract demonstrated the most significant hair growth, indicating that higher concentrations of bitter melon leaf extract in pomade can effectively promote hair growth.

Rosemary extract showed high inhibitory activity against DHT, similar to finasteride and dutasteride, but the conversation includes skepticism about its effectiveness in humans since the study was done on mice and rosemary oil is often considered ineffective based on personal experiences. Some suggest trying rosemary oil alongside other treatments, while others emphasize the difference between the extract used in the study and the oil.
