TLDR Certain gene variations may increase the risk of PCOS in South Indian women.
This study investigated the association of eNOS and STAT6 gene polymorphisms with the susceptibility to Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) in South Indian women. It involved 105 PCOS patients and 110 non-PCOS controls. The research found statistically significant differences in the genotype and allele frequencies of eNOS+894G/T and STAT62964G/A between the two groups. The findings suggested that these gene polymorphisms could be inheritable risk factors for PCOS in this population.
