Potential Effects of Plumbago Europaea Root Extract on Alopecia: An Experimental Rat Study

The study investigated the effects of Plumbago europaea root extract on alopecia using three Sprague-Dawley rats with induced hair loss. The extract was applied topically in varying concentrations, and results showed that a 100% concentration significantly enhanced hair growth by increasing the number of hair follicles, hair shaft diameter, and hair length. The findings suggest that P. europaea root extract is a promising treatment for alopecia, attributed to its bioactive compounds like saponins, phenolics, and antioxidants.
