Effects of Angelica Gigas Nakai and Glycyrrhiza Uralensis Extracts on Hair Growth

This study investigated the effects of Angelica gigas Nakai and Glycyrrhiza uralensis Fischet extracts on hair growth in C57BL/6 mice. Mice were divided into four groups: normal (saline), vehicle control, positive control (3% minoxidil), and experimental (herbal extracts). Over 3 weeks, the experimental and positive control groups showed significant hair regrowth and hair follicle development compared to the normal and vehicle control groups. IGF-1 expression was significantly higher in the experimental and positive control groups. The study concluded that these herbal extracts effectively stimulated hair growth and could potentially be used for hair growth or hair loss prevention in humans.
