TLDR The combination of mint and Aloe vera serum may help reduce hair loss from chemotherapy.
This study investigated the effects of Mentha piperita (mint) leaf and Aloe vera serum on CDK1 and CDC25 expression in Wistar rats with chemotherapy-induced alopecia. The study involved 42 rats divided into six groups, including a control group, a chemotherapy-induced alopecia group, and treatment groups with minoxidil, mint leaf serum, Aloe vera serum, and a combination of mint leaf and Aloe vera serum. Results showed that the combination serum significantly reduced CDK1 expression compared to the alopecia group, while CDC25 expression was unaffected. Mint serum alone reduced CDC25 expression, indicating potential for preventing chemotherapy-induced alopecia.
