TLDR Trichoscopy effectively shows early positive effects of minoxidil in male pattern hair loss, improving patient satisfaction.
This prospective cohort study of 200 male patients aged 18-40 years with male pattern hair loss (MPHL) assessed early trichoscopic changes during minoxidil therapy. Significant improvements were observed, especially in the frontal scalp area, after 2 months of treatment. Key findings included an increase in hair count and anisotrichosis, and a reduction in peripilar sign and yellow dots. Patient satisfaction was high, with 70% reporting satisfaction with the therapy. The study underscores the value of trichoscopy in monitoring early therapeutic effects, which can improve patient compliance and satisfaction.
