    This pharmacovigilance study utilized data from the FDA Adverse Event Reporting System to identify systemic drugs associated with blepharitis, meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD), and chalazion. It found significant overreporting of MGD for finasteride (ROR 71.6) and chalazion for bortezomib (ROR 73.9). Dupilumab was linked to all three conditions, with RORs of 35.7 for blepharitis, 15.4 for MGD, and 12.6 for chalazion. Other drugs associated with blepharitis included isotretinoin, docetaxel, and infliximab. The study suggests that while these medications can cause localized eyelid inflammation, their benefits may outweigh the risks. Clinicians should monitor for these side effects and consider preventive measures like educating patients on eyelid hygiene.
