TLDR The article explains how to diagnose and manage certain types of scarring hair loss.
In the first part of this 2-part article, the authors reviewed primary cicatricial alopecias, focusing on those that are predominantly lymphocytic. They discussed the classification, epidemiology, diagnostic approach, and patient management of various lymphocytic cicatricial alopecias, including chronic cutaneous lupus erythematosus (discoid lupus erythematosus), lichen planopilaris, classic pseudopelade of Brocq, central centrifugal cicatricial alopecia, alopecia mucinosa, and keratosis follicularis spinulosa decalvans. The article aimed to provide a comprehensive understanding of these conditions to aid in their diagnosis and management. Part II was intended to cover neutrophilic and mixed cicatricial alopecias.
