TLDR Pulsatilla chinensis compounds may help prevent stress-related hair loss.
The study investigated the effects of CRH receptor antagonists from Pulsatilla chinensis on human hair follicles and dermal papilla cells, focusing on stress-induced hair loss. It was found that CRH induced early catagen transition and downregulated hair growth-related factors in an ex vivo hair organ culture model. CRH also activated stress-related signaling pathways in cultured dermal papilla cells. However, CRH receptor antagonists from P. chinensis reversed these effects, suggesting that saponin derivatives from this plant could be used as a treatment for stress-induced hair loss.

Hair loss varies due to genetic sensitivity to DHT and other factors. Treatments discussed include finasteride, minoxidil, RU58841, and microneedling.
