TLDR The combination therapy is safe and effective for treating Female Pattern Hair Loss in Asian women.
The study evaluated the efficacy of a combination therapy for treating Female Pattern Hair Loss (FPHL) in 4568 Japanese women aged 19 to 83 years. The therapy included oral spironolactone, oral and topical minoxidil, and monthly injectable treatments. Results showed significant hair regrowth, with 95% and 96% of patients reporting satisfaction at 6 and 12 months, respectively. Minor complications were observed in 4.9% of patients, including slight pain, bleeding, and other mild side effects, which resolved spontaneously. The study concluded that this combination therapy is a safe and effective treatment for FPHL with minimal complications, though further research is needed to explore additional treatments and optimize dosages.
