TLDR Collagen supplements improve hair health and are safe.
A study involving 100 adults aged 19-60 with mild-to-moderate hair damage assessed the effects of a low-molecular-weight collagen peptide supplement (GPVGPS Collagen®) on hair health. Participants were randomized to receive either 2,000 mg/day of the collagen supplement or a placebo for 24 weeks. Results showed that the collagen group experienced significant improvements in hair luster, shaft surface integrity, tensile strength, diameter, and density compared to the placebo group. Participants also reported higher satisfaction with their hair condition. No safety-related adverse events were observed, indicating that GPVGPS Collagen® is both effective and safe for enhancing hair health.
