TLDR Lengthening telomeres may reverse aging and extend lifespan.
The article argues that telomere shortening is the sole cause of aging among the twelve hallmarks of aging. It presents the "Telomere DNA and ribosomal DNA co-regulation model for cell senescence," which indicates that the shortening of telomeres and rDNA arrays influences various aging hallmarks via the P53 pathway. Consequently, the article suggests that the most effective strategy to reverse aging and extend lifespan is to lengthen telomeres and rDNA arrays in adult stem cells within tissues.
