TLDR Liaoning cashmere goats grow more cashmere by boosting fat production, supporting hair structure, and controlling inflammation.
This study investigates the molecular mechanisms behind prolonged hair follicle activity in Liaoning cashmere goats (PT-LCG) using transcriptomic and metabolomic analysis. It suggests that PT-LCG maintains continuous cashmere growth by enhancing lipid synthesis and storage, remodeling the extracellular matrix for structural support, and modulating inflammatory signaling, particularly the IL-17 pathway, to sustain follicular microenvironment homeostasis. These insights could inform molecular breeding strategies to enhance cashmere yield and quality.
