TLDR Abrocitinib, a JAK inhibitor, may help treat atopic dermatitis and alopecia universalis together.
A 14-year-old girl with severe atopic dermatitis (AD) and alopecia universalis (AU) experienced significant hair regrowth and improvement in AD symptoms after 52 weeks of daily oral abrocitinib (200 mg), a Janus kinase (JAK) 1 inhibitor. Despite a mild relapse of AD, the patient remained satisfied with the treatment outcome, and no significant side effects were observed. This case suggests that abrocitinib can be an effective therapeutic option for patients with AD and refractory AU.
