TLDR Blood products can improve healing and aesthetics in plastic surgery but have inconsistent results.
This systematic review examines the use of blood products like PRP, PRF, CGF, and PPP in plastic surgery, emphasizing their growing popularity due to safety, natural origin, and cost-effectiveness. These products are used for enhancing wound healing, reducing scar formation, and improving aesthetic outcomes, with PRP being particularly noted for its role in wound healing, scar reduction, and hair loss treatment. The review highlights the advantages of these treatments, such as PRF's reduced cross-contamination risks and CGF's sustained growth factor release, while also acknowledging challenges like non-standardized preparation procedures and the need for further research to fully realize their potential in plastic surgery.
