TLDR Stem cells, PRP, and exosomes show promise in treating skin conditions but face regulatory and safety challenges.
The review discusses the advancements and challenges in the use of stem cells, PRP, and exosomes in regenerative medicine and dermatology. Stem cells have shown significant potential due to their ability to differentiate and self-renew, while PRP is valued for its regenerative properties. Exosomes offer a minimally invasive approach by impacting cellular functions. Despite the promise, regulatory hurdles, safety concerns, and the need for standardization in isolation, storage, dosage, and application remain significant challenges. Continued research is essential to optimize these therapies for treating chronic dermatological conditions like chronic wounds, scarring, and androgenetic alopecia.
