TLDR PRP and stem cells can help treat baldness by promoting hair growth.
Autologous platelet-rich plasma (PRP) had been used effectively for over 30 years in various medical applications. The process involved drawing blood into an anticoagulated tube, and PRP was injected into the donor site during follicular unit extraction to promote hemostasis and angiogenesis. PRP injections in the recipient area could benefit nontransplanted hairs. Hair follicle neogenesis was a key focus in regenerative medicine, with hair follicles containing stem cells that might be activated to treat baldness. Lowering dihydrotestosterone levels could help some intermediate follicles enlarge and regrow normal terminal hairs.
